The Libertines 'not planning live shows for the foreseeable future'

The members of The Libertines are currently concentrating on their solo projects.

The Libertines will not be playing live together for the "foreseeable future", the band's management has said.

A spokesperson for the band moved to quash rumours the electric guitar band would be back on stage together soon, after it was reported Carl Barat's solo deal with PowerAmp would result in a number of dates for The Libertines as well.

"The Libertines are not involved in any deal with PowerAmp music and no shows are scheduled for the foreseeable future whilst all members continue to work on their individual projects," the official told NME.

Last year saw the group reunite for well-received shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals, but they have not played together since those gigs took place.

Barat is set to embark on a solo tour of the UK later this month, beginning with a show in Brighton on March 29th.

The electric guitar player will then go on to perform in Portsmouth, Cambridge, Birmingham, London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

His run of shows will draw to a close in Sheffield on April 8th.

Barat's bandmate in The Libertines Pete Doherty also played a number of solo shows during 2010.
