The Hollies to miss Hall of Fame induction
Bobby Elliott, the man behind the drum kit in The Hollies, has revealed that scheduling commitments will stop the band attending their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week (March 15th 2010).
The two surviving members of the group are playing a show in London tonight meaning that they are unable to make it to the awards ceremony in New York.
Elliott told BBC 6 Music: "We've had a tour booked for 12 months - there was no way we could get an alternative date for these venues.
"We're just a bit hamstrung, we couldn't get there."
Instead, the award will be presented to former Hollies members Graham Nash and Allan Clarke on behalf of the rest of the band.
Genesis are also due to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Earlier this year, Peter Gabriel dashed hopes of the band reforming for the show, telling Rolling Stone there wasn't time to rehearse with drummer Phil Collins, keyboard player Tony Banks and bass guitar player Mike Rutherford.Posted on 15 Mar 2010 19:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
