The Futureheads' electric guitar player is managing Split Festival
Ross Millard, the electric guitar player from the band The Futureheads, is to curate this year's Split Festival in Sunderland.
The musician has already signed up Brooklyn-based The Drums, The Charlatans, local boys Frankie and the Heartstrings and Ganglians.
In what is seems to be a Futureheads-influenced festival, Dave Hyde, who plays the drums in the band, will be showcasing his new pet project Hyde & Beast.
Speaking to NME about the event, Millard said that he was excited to have secured a big band like The Drums. He saw it as a scoop for Sunderland.
He added: "At the end of the Sunday when everyone is getting a little bit emotional and a little bit carried away with themselves, on come the Charlatans to play you through a greatest hits set and it couldn't really be better."
The two-day music festival runs from September 18th to 19th and will be held at the Ashbrooke Sports Club.
