The Drums voted best new band of the summer
Indie group The Drums have been voted as the stand-out act of the festival season.
According to a poll of NME readers, the band were the best new group of the summer, ahead of the likes of Marina and the Diamonds and Ellie Goulding.
Meanwhile, the defining moment of the festival season was voted as the reunion of The Libertines at Reading and Leeds, with the biggest let down coming from Guns N' Roses at the same events, reports Music Week.
Despite the disappointing performance of the electric guitar band in a headline slot, readers still voted Reading and Leeds as the best festival of the year, beating Glastonbury into second place.
The Drums are currently on tour in the US but are set to return to the UK for a number of shows in November and December.
They have gigs planned in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Belfast and Leeds as part of their winter tour.
