The Cribs are set to be honoured at the upcoming NME Awards 2013 by receiving the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music gong.

Brothers Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman will pick up the award at the ceremony which will take place at Troxy, east London, on February 27th and will also be performing live on the night.

Fans will be able to vote via NME on which song they would like to see the Wakefield trio perform at the showpiece event.

The Cribs have had a meteoric rise to indie-rock stardom since their self-titled debut was released in 2004. They received critical acclaim for their records Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever and Ignore the Ignorant.

The latter saw legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr join the band after having a stint as a touring member in 2008. Marr is also set to receive the Godlike Genius award at the NME event.

Mike Williams, editor of NME, said: "Needless to say we're incredibly proud to salute their [The Cribs'] achievements by honouring them with this award. They truly are outstanding as well as inspiring, and we're looking forward to staying with them every step of the way for another ten years."
