The Cribs confused by new LP
Posted on 26 Aug 2010 07:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

The Cribs are "torn" over what direction to go in with their new album.
The British indie rockers - who are set to perform at this weekend's Reading and Leeds festivals - are suffering from an "identity crisis" and haven't decided what they want to do when they return to the studio to record the follow-up to 2009's 'Ignore the Ignorant' later in the year.
Bassist Gary Jarman explained: "It's like an identity crisis - I think we've got a few facets to us. With The Cribs, when we first started out it was just about doing what you want, and one part of me really just wants The Cribs to make a record in the basement - that's what we used to do.
"And then the other side of me wants to go to America and spend a couple of months in the studio making a big record. It's weird, I'm torn at the minute."
The rocker - whose twin brother Ryan and younger sibling Ross make up the four-piece band with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr - also revealed he might make a solo LP at some point in the future, as he has a collection of tracks he wouldn't record with The Cribs.
He added to Gigwise: "I've just got a big backlog of songs which I wouldn't use in The Cribs, and I feel like I could do because there's so many of them that have built up over the years that I haven't put out. So maybe one day."
