The Cribs cancel Coachella festival appearance
Posted on 16 Apr 2010 17:15 to category : Instruments News

Indie band The Cribs have been forced to pull out of a festival date in Coachella after all UK flights were grounded by the cloud of volcanic ash floating over the country.
The electric guitar group were due to fly out to California to perform at the bash but their flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles was cancelled at the last minute.
An attempt was then made by the group to get to Amsterdam and fly on to the US from there but it became clear they would not arrive on time at the festival even if they managed to get across the Atlantic.
"We were really looking forward to playing this year, the slot sounded perfect, outdoor at dusk, and the last time we played Coachella was really fun," The Cribs told their fans via MySpace.
Last week, band member Johnny Marr, who made his name in The Smiths, was named the fourth best electric guitar player of the past 30 years in a poll by BBC 6 Music.
