Four other acts were confirmed for the bash at the same time by organisers, with The Young Knives, The Whip, Middleman and Nero all given slots in the line-up.
According to a Kendal Calling spokesman, tiocketholders can look forward to a "phenomenal" live show from Chase and Status, while fans of The Smiths and Modest Mouse will enjoy seeing electric guitar player Johnny Marr performing with The Cribs.
Blondie are to close the event on its final evening, it was revealed.
"They're one of the biggest names in music and will be treating music lovers to a back catalogue of hits plus new material from their forthcoming new album," said a Kendal Calling official.
A number of acts have already been announced for the festival, which is taking place between July 29th and 31st at the Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District.
Beardy Man, Mr Scruff and The Levellers will all perform, while a special acoustic set is to be played by Tim Burgess and Mark Collins from The Charlatans.
