The Charlatans cancel tour
Posted on 20 Sep 2010 16:30 to category : Music News

The Charlatans have cancelled their North American tour following the collapse of their drummer last week.
Jon Brookes reportedly stopped breathing during the band's set in Philadelphia, and had to be revived by a doctor who was luckily in the crowd.
He was taken into hospital where his condition stabilised, and will be flown back to the UK for further treatment. The band have since confirmed they will reschedule the tour dates, in support of their 11th album, 'Who We Touch', following the incident.
In a statement, the group said: "The Charlatans are very upset at not being able to continue the tour but hope to reschedule the dates as soon as possible."
The band has previously had to cancel dates in North America last year after Jon had to undergo surgery on his shoulder.
In a recent interview during the US tour, frontman Tim Burgess told website skiddle.com: "Yeah, it's going well good! We have some big fans here, lots of appreciation. It's great to be back touring America - feels like it's been an age."
