Teenager urging people to donate music instruments
A teenage member of the scouts is doing his bit for the community by encouraging people to donate music instruments and cash so that disadvantaged young people can have an opportunity to learn how to play an instrument.
Michael Casagrande, who is working his way towards becoming an eagle scout, has been playing the double-bass since he was a youngster and has seen how much of a positive impact it has had on his own life, reported yourkleinnews.com.
The instruments and cash will go towards students at Klein Oak High School.
Speaking to the online news provider, Michael said: "It has been such a great experience for me that I would like to help introduce this to other fifth grade students in our district.
"Unfortunately, there are many children who would love the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, but with tough economic times, their families may not be able to afford to pay for the rental of an instrument."
