Teacher's piano player pet gains fame
Sammy Squirrel can apparently "press the keys" on a version of the music instrument according to quotes from his owner.
The keyboard Sammy uses to display this skill is somewhat smaller than that on most of the pianos Gear4Music deals in, however, belonging as it does to a diminutive toy version. But he has apparently also been known to run across full sized keyboards, too.
His piano instructor owner, Shirley Higton, has said that the critter's musical passions could spring from observing her teaching.
"He likes listening to bouncy music, such as a boogie woogie, but I don't think Jools Holland has any worries," she speculated. Holland is the presenter of the BBC's Later With Jools Holland music programme and himself a piano player – perhaps he fancies a duet?
As far as we're aware, pianos are not common within squirrels' natural habitat.
