Taylor Swift to battle Carrie at CMTs
Posted on 11 May 2010 16:30 to category : Music News

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood lead the nominations at his year's Country Music Television (CMT) Awards.
Taylor and Carrie both gained three nominations each, going head-to-head for the Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year prizes for 'You Belong With Me' and 'Cowboy Casanova' respectively.
Also up for three nominations are Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean.
Among the other nominees include Nicole Kidman's husband Keith Urban, whose video 'Til Summer Comes Around' will compete against Tim McGraw's 'Southern Voice', Toby Keith's 'American Ride', Jason Aldean's 'The Truth' and Billy Currington's 'People Are Crazy' for the Male Video of the Year Prize.
Taylor and Carrie face competition from Miranda Lambert's 'White Liar' and Reba McEntire's 'Consider Me Gone' in the Female Video of the Year category.
CMT President Brian Phillips said: "When you look at the talent and diversity amassed within these categories it's easy to see why this has been CMT's biggest year every.
"Hosted by our Nashville-brother-by-way-of-Detroit Kid Rock, this night promises to be an unforgettable party."
The awards, which are the only fan voted prizes in the country music world, will be broadcast live on June 9 in a live TV ceremony.
