TOTP to hit the stage
And although the music show no longer appears on television in the way that it once did, it is about to be presented as a stage version, which will include clips from the programme, it has been revealed.
Eastbourne will see the new show - called Top of the Pops Live - first next year, and then it will set out on a tour.
Many famous pop stars appeared on the TV version of the show, which famously concluded with a list of the top ten singles, and a performance of that week's number one. The Spice Girls, Take That, Oasis, Pulp and The Smiths are just a tiny collection of the musical stars who took to its stage.
The same people who were responsible for Thriller – a musical themed around Michael Jackson – are going to be responsible for the show's reimagining on the stage.
