Synthesizers 'can model almost anything'
Posted on 2 Aug 2010 16:00 to category : Instruments News

Synthesizers are growing ever more sophisticated in the types of musical instruments they can replicate, it has been suggested.
According to Mike Levine, editor of Electronic Music Magazine, the equipment is evolving as computer programmes grow more sophisticated in what they can achieve musically.
"It has gotten very, very good with something like drums and bass and strings," Mr Levine told the Independent.
"With piano they can model almost anything."
He added that synthesizers are especially useful for basement bands just getting started in the music industry and may not have the funds for the real thing.
Last month, an article in the Press and Journal named the Korg Kaossilator Pro Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer as one of the best electronic instruments on the marketplace.
It stated that the equipment is easy to use and allows owners to try out 100 sounds when they are recording, looping and stacking and creating tracks.
