Supernatural sleuth Robert Downey Jr
Posted on 11 Dec 2009 07:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Robert Downey Jr. used to visit a spiritualist medium.
The 'Sherlock Holmes' actor admits he used to regularly attend meetings to watch people trying to contact their loved ones beyond the grave.
He said: "I used to go to the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Spiritual Society and listen to mediums as they shared the intimate goings on of the recently deceased with their mourning loved ones."
However, the actor - who visited the spiritualist group over 20 years ago while filming 'Air America' - admits he was unsure whether or not to believe what he witnesses.
He added to movie website RottenTomatoes: "It was a curiosity. I was a kid. By the way, I don't believe in it or not believe in it. It is what it is and there are certain realms of activity where you can get information."
The actor also believes his interest makes him share a bond with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who penned the 'Sherlock Holmes' stories which his latest movie is based on, as the author was fascinated by spiritualism.
He added: "Doyle was a serious spiritualist. He was in touch with a lot of intuitive folks."
