Summer NAMM 2016: Epiphone Announce A Wealth Of New Guitars
The models are vintage re-issues of some of Epiphone's most celebrated models, as well as a wealth of re-vamped versions of some modern classics including the Les Paul Traditional Pro II and Les Paul Special VE.
The 1955 Les Paul Custom is a re-issue of the 'tuxedo' Les Paul with an iconic ebony finish and paired with gold hardware. The pickups on the tuxedo differ to that of the Les Paul Custom. The tuxedo features P90s rather than the humbuckers you would find on the custom. The P90s are recognised as the most powerful and versatile single-coil pickups made and were Les Paul's favourite pickup.
The 1966 Century is a faithful replication of the classic thinline all-hollowbody archtop guitar, which has been revered for it warm woody tone and lightweight body.
Furthermore, the Les Paul Special VE is available in new vintage worn finishes, including: cherry, ebony, heritage cherry sunburst, vintage sunburst and walnut. The new guitars also have open coil humbuckers.
The Les Paul Traditional Pro II also has a few new revamped features, including coil-splitting, 15db boost and alnico classic pro and probucker pickups. Moreover, new color finishes include: Ebony, Desertburst, Ocean Blue, Vintage Sunburst, and Wine Red.
