Suede play hits for TCT
Posted on 25 Mar 2010 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Suede played a greatest hits set at London's Royal Albert Hall last night (23.03.10).
The second line-up of the group - Brett Anderson, Richard Oakes, Simon Gilbert, Neil Codling and Mat Osman - performed career-spanning tracks in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity to a rapturous reception from fans who had long been calling for a reunion.
Kicking off with tracks from 1996's 'Coming Up' - 'She', 'Trash' and 'Filmstar' - frontman Brett said little in between songs but was happy to acknowledge fans in the front row as he walked the length of the stage.
However, before singing 'He's Gone', the singer made a touching tribute to a friend 'Jessie', who had died just weeks before the show.
Other highlights from the concert included 'Animal Nitrate', 'The Drowners', popular B-side 'Killing of a Flashboy' and 'Metal Mickey'.
After ending with 'Beautiful Ones' to a standing ovation, Brett promised the crowd "we haven't finished yet" before returning to an encore of 'The Two of Us' and 'Saturday Night'.
Much to the disappointment of the audience, the group's 'thank you' speech didn't include confirmation that they were planning any other shows - though Brett did say they would come back "in another seven years", making reference to the last time they played live together.
