Stone Roses to net £10 million from comeback gigs

The Stone Roses are rumoured to be getting £10 million for their comeback gigs.

The Stone Roses' three comeback gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park next summer are set to net the band over £10 million, it has been reported.

The newly-reformed group will also earn a rumoured £1 million per festival appearance in 2012, reports the Sun.

Tickets for the reunion shows sold out within an hour of going on sale, making them the fastest selling rock shows in history, and demand for tickets for Benicassim and T in the Park, where the band will headline, are also likely to see out quickly.

Announcing the lineup for T in the Park, Geoff Ellis, festival director, said: "The Stone Roses are one of the most influential bands of all time.

"To have them headline T In The Park is a dream come true as most people never thought they would see the band perform together ever again.

"The atmosphere will be electric when these boys go on stage and I, for one, absolutely cannot wait."

Next year's gigs will be the first time guitarist John Squire, frontman Ian Brown, bassist Gary ‘Mani' Mounfield and drummer Alan ‘Reni' Wren, have performed together in over 17 years.

Following their Manchester shows they will take their tour around the world.

The band first parted ways 1997 after 14 years together.

They released two albums, The Stone Roses in 1989 and Second Coming in 1994.
