Sting reveals history with his Fender P-Bass guitar

Sting has spoken about his use of a historic Fender P-Bass guitar he has played over the course of the past two decades.
Talking to Rolling Stone, the musician stated the guitar he uses dates back from 1954, making it slightly younger than himself.
"I found it over 20 years ago and it was like a little orphan that nobody wanted," he said. "I know for a fact that Leo Fender wound the pickups himself.
"That's a magician at work."
The Fender website explained that it has designed a signature P-Bass guitar modelled on the one which Sting uses.
Earlier this year, Sting revealed to Billboard that his planned live shows with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra involve new arrangements for more than 40 of his songs.
The gigs are taking place in the US and Canada over the course of June and July, with further shows planned in Europe between September and November.
