Stewart denies supergroup reunion
Pop singer Rod Stewart has denied reports that supergroup the Faces are to reunite for a tour later this year.
Rumours started circulating earlier this month that the old line-up featuring Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Kenny Jones and Ian McLagan were planning to get back together for a series of gigs in 2009, with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers set to replace the late Ronnie Lane.
However, a spokesperson for Stewart has rubbished the claims said there will certainly not be a tour before the end of this year.
The Faces were one of the most popular live acts of the early 1970s and featured Small Faces members McLagan and Lane on keyboards and bass guitar respectively, Wood of the Birds - and later the Rolling Stones - on lead guitar, bass and harmonica, Jones on drums and percussion and Stewart on lead vocals.
They are perhaps best known for hit song Ooh La La, which has been used numerous times in films and television adverts.
