Stevie Wonder inducted at Apollo Theatre Hall of Fame
The legendary musician Stevie Wonder has been inducted into New York's Apollo Theatre Hall of Fame.
He was presented with the special award by crooner Tony Bennett at the theatre's spring gala.
Wonder, who began playing music instruments as a child, began his career at the theatre when he was 12 years-old in 1962.
Speaking at the event, the multi award-winning superstar said: "It's a moment to cherish and remember, relishing in the memories of the times I've been at the Apollo, as well as this night, the great people that came out to support me being here.
"It's a great thing to be one of those people in the Hall Of Fame for the Apollo."
Wonder, who has won a massive 25 Grammy Awards throughout his professional career as a musician, performed at the induction alongside Bennett, Paul Schaffer and Doug E Fresh.
Wonder recently surprised graduates of Washington and Lee High School when he turned up at the ceremony. He was there to celebrate the graduation of a relative.
It was a surprise that the students will never forget.
