Steve Vai joins Mary J Blige on Led Zeppelin cover
Posted on 4 Feb 2010 17:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Legendary electric guitar player Steve Vai has joined a star-studded line up to help Mary J Blige's cover Led Zeppelin track Stairway to Heaven.
The cover, which is to be released as a bonus track on Blige's new album, Stronger With Each Tear, saw Blink 182 star Travis Barker behind the drum kit and also featured Michael Jackson's touring guitar player Orianthi.
American Idol judge Randy Jackson also makes an appearance on the song.
Blige told music website Spinner that they all had found reinterpreting the track surprisingly easy.
"I think this song is not hard at all because it's based on pure emotion," she said.
"You have got to get lost in the rock and roll moment of it all."
Led Zeppelin's bass guitar player John Paul Jones has recently announced his new band, Them Crooked Vultures, plan to release their second album in the second half of 2010.
