Steve Miller reveals Les Paul guitar inspiration
Paul was a friend of his fathers and gave the young Miller plenty of advice on the best way to play the instrument, the blues star told the Gibson Lifestyle blog.
He added that Paul was a "phenomenal guitarist" with an extremely devoted fanbase.
"All the best musicians from 150 miles around always came to his gigs," said Miller. "There was always a jam session."
He added that this was the case before Paul became famous for inventing the solid-body electric guitar and a multi-track machine.
He stated that his favourite versions of the instrument were those made in the 1950s, describing the "certain magic" the guitars of that era have for him.
