Status Quo star 'feels lucky'
Electric guitar player Rick Parfitt has said he feels fortunate to still be making music at the age of 61.
The Status Quo star revealed that from an early age, he had always wanted to play in a band.
Parfitt joined Quo in 1967 and the group have since notched up more than 60 hit singles, including Caroline, Whatever You Want, Pictures of Matchstick Men and What You're Proposing.
As a result, he believes he is very lucky to still be playing guitar in a successful band after more than 40 years in the music business.
"This is all I wanted to do in my life," Parfitt commented.
"Not a lot has changed really - it's still great doing what we do."
The Fender Telecaster player was recently handed an OBE by the Queen for services to music and charity.
Quo are currently on tour in Australia and will be entering the recording studio later this year to record a new album.Posted on 10 Mar 2010 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
