Star Musicians Feature In Marshall Amps Film
Marshall amplifiers are one of the most well-known and revered amplifier brands in the world and the documentary covers the company's history in a true rags to riches tale that began in London in 1923 and shaped the sound of rock music forever.
In 1960 Jim opened a drum shop which soon became a popular haunt for the up and coming rock bands of the time. "All the drummers used to bring their groups in with them, which is how I got to meet guitarists like Pete (Townsend) and Ritchie (Blackmore)."Jim recollected.
"They kept pestering me to stock guitars and amps so I decided to give it a go." He quickly became aware of the fact his guitar playing customers were all searching for a sound they just couldn't get from the amps available at the time.
Other artists to feature in the film include Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) and Kerry King (Slayer).
