SpongeBob SquarePants ukulele given industry accolade
The SpongeBob SquarePants ukulele has picked up an industry honour.
It won first prize at the recent Toy Fair in Paris, scooping the award in the category of new product trends.
The accolade for the ukulele follows last year's success for the SpongeBob SquarePants musical instrument range – when it was granted an innovation award by Licensing Source Book Europe, reports MI-Pro.
"This French accolade demonstrates the success of the range, which has become very popular in the UK and overseas," the news provider explained of the most recent honour.
SpongeBob SquarePants is a children's cartoon that attracts around 70 million viewers around the world each month.
Last year, Nickelodeon hosted a special weekend of programmes designed to celebrate the TV show's tenth anniversary, reported Media News International.
Victoria Beckham has recently voiced a character in the cartoon, with the former pop star playing Queen Amphitrite in a new episode of the show.Posted on 6 Jul 2010 16:10 to category : Instruments News
