Spectrasonics Trilian Praised Again
Posted on 30 Dec 2009 11:45 to category : Instruments News

Spectrasonics have recently released the Trilian Total Bass Module.
Within a highly praiseworthy review this month, Sound On Sound Magazine called Trilian a "radical transformation" from its predecessor Trilogy.
Trilian consists of three main types of bass samples to create music with - acoustic, electric and synth basses.
Learning that 112,997 samples have been included within the 34GB core library makes it hard for anyone to say that Spectrasonics have provided a half-baked product with Trilian.
In fact, on closer inspection, it becomes clear that Trilian is a highly complex bass module that caters for a wide array of music producers' tastes.
Whilst looking at the range of electric bass guitars available within Trilian, Sound On Sound Magazines reviewer commented: "Auditioning the range of bass guitars recorded for Trilian is like taking a stroll through the history of rock and pop."
Trilian goes beyond a simple bass module and also provides 'noises' from the acoustic basses such as staccatos, harmonics, squeaks, thumps, and a whole array of slides.
"To find bass sounds of this scope and caliber presented in one very well-designed, easy-to-operate yet complex instrument is a great practical boon, and the resulting creative potential is practically limitless."
Customers who bought Trilogy in 2009 will be pleased to learn that they are entitled to a free upgrade to Trilian.
With a price tag falling around the £200 mark, Sound On Sound Magazine's reviewer commented:
"This seems a fair price to pay for a very classy instrument with very wide applications and huge musical power, which operates on the same level as high-end sample libraries."
"As I've found with every Spectrasonics instrument and library I've ever played to date, Trilian is an investment that won't let you down."
