Specials' painful reunion
Posted on 1 Mar 2010 07:00 to category : Music News

Jerry Dammers finds the Specials reunion hard to deal with.
The 54-year-old singer, who was a founder of the 'Too Much Too Young' hitmakers, admits the band's reconciliation, of which he is not a part, is tough.
He said: "It's been a horrible, horrible, experience. It's just like re-enacting the break -up of the Specials, which I went through once and I didn't expect to have to go through again."
However, he did admit he had seen the band perform.
He said: "It was a bit of a nightmare, very weird. And they couldn't play 'Ghost Town', their greatest hit, properly."
The singer, who now performs with 20 piece Spatial AKA Orchestra, also admits he hasn't been in the public eye for some time because of the press.
He said: "I've been beavering away on the ground, pretty much ignored by the press."
Earlier this week, The Specials picked up the Outstanding Contribution to Music prize at the NME Awards.
