Slash reveals his favourite guitar riffs
Posted on 10 Feb 2010 21:30 to category : Music News

Former Guns N' Roses electric guitarist Slash has revealed his ten favourite guitar riffs of all time.
Speaking to Paste Magazine, the star named tracks such as I Want You by The Beatles and Metallica's Disposable Heroes as containing some of the best guitar playing he has heard.
Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix took the number three spot and Slash explained: "You take it for granted because you've heard it so many times, but this is just such a well-structured, almost perfect riff.
"It's very unique, just in terms of structure and technique."
In second place, the electric guitar player chose Over Under Sideways Down by The Yardbirds, leaving the top spot to be handed to Led Zeppelin's Black Dog.
Slash said Black Dog was the obvious choice due to its "monstrous" nature.
In 2009, Time Magazine named Slash as the second best electric guitar player of all time with the Guns N' Roses musician pipped to first place by Hendrix.
