Slash no guitar legend
Slash doesn't consider himself a guitar legend.
The former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist modestly doesn't think he is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, despite widely being regarded so by his peers and regularly topping guitar player magazine polls.
He said: "All of the guys who I consider guitar legends are people who are pioneers of electric guitar and rock 'n' roll in particular, and blues guitar as well and I'm struggling to keep up. It's a work in progress, so I definitely don't put myself in the 'legend' category."
Instead of getting more practice on his instrument, however, Slash admitted he instead became addicted to playing computer game Guitar Hero II - in which the player gets a plastic guitar and emulates playing a track by pressing buttons and strumming along.
Slash was then honoured by being featured in the game's sequel, Guitar Hero III, as a playable character.
He explained: "I got addicted to Guitar Hero II. I spent hours in front of the TV. Then I got a call asking if I'd like to be in Guitar Hero III and it turned out really cool."Posted on 9 Apr 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
