Slash given Ambassador of Rock award
Legendary electric guitar player Slash has picked up an award in London.
The star was given the Hard Rock Ambassador of Rock prize at the O2 Silver Clef Awards.
He was handed the award by his friend and fellow guitar player Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.
"I'm more than honoured to be the recipient of the Hard Rock Ambassador of Rock Award," said Slash.
"[It] feels sort of like being knighted."
Earlier this year, Wood revealed that Slash is set to play a part in the forthcoming reunion of The Faces.
The band is set to tour the UK and play at various festivals this year, with Slash lined up to help on the guitar when his schedule allows it.
Other artists lined up to be involved with The Faces include former Oasis star Noel Gallagher, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes and Kelly Jones, the lead singer in the Stereophonics.Posted on 5 Jul 2010 21:00 to category : Music News
