Slash denies Jackson track
Posted on 12th Mar 2010 10:00 to category Band / Celebrity News
Slash has denied he played on Michael Jackson's 'Black or White' and has branded the song "gay".
The former Guns 'N' Roses guitarist worked with the late 'King of Pop' from 1991 onward, but has denied appearing on the lead single from his 'Dangerous' LP - saying confusion arose from the fact he played on another track, 'Give in to Me', from the same album.
He told US TV network CNN: "I never played on 'Black or White'. If you listen to the riff, that's gay. I'd never play that. I played on 'Give in to Me' and in the 'Black and White' video, when Macaulay Culkin was trashing around, that's me playing."
Slash, 44, also spoke about the 'Thriller' singer's untimely death - from acute intoxication of the powerful anaesthetic Propofol at his home in Los Angeles, last June - and the child molestation accusations he faced.
Michael settled the first case with Jordy Chandler out of court in 1994, and was acquitted of all counts in the second case in 2005.
Slash added: "Michael Jackson was f***ing amazing to watch. The one thing that Michael really wanted was for somebody to like him and the child molestation accusations just sorta just killed him. The fact that he was doing downers really makes sense for his lifestyle."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed the first track on a posthumous album of Michael's unreleased songs will be a recording made with another guitarist, Lenny Kravitz.
The song had originally been planned for inclusion on the singer's 'Invincible' record, but was cut from the final tracklist, because it was considered "too rocky".
