Slash and AC/DC up for Classic Rock Awards
Posted on 16 Aug 2010 11:50 to category : Music News

Electric guitar player Slash is among the acts nominated for the forthcoming Classic Rock Awards.
The star and his backing group are up for the Band of the Year award, along with the likes of Rage Against the Machine, AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Aerosmith.
He has also been nominated in the Best Album category, along with 15 other acts including Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.
Fans will be able to vote online for their favourites for both awards on the magazine's website, while they will also be able to decide the winners in categories including Best New Band, Event of the Year and Reissue of the Year.
Alice Cooper is to host the awards ceremony, which is to be held in London on November 10th 2010.
Earlier this year, Slash revealed to the Times some of the songs that contain his favourite electric guitar riffs, including Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love and The Kinks' You Really Got Me.
