Sir Paul McCartney hints at Gorillaz collaboration
Sir Paul McCartney has hinted that he might be planning on collaborating with the animated music outfit Gorillaz.
The Beatles legend, who plays the acoustic guitar, revealed in an interview with the Quietus that he had talked to Damon Albarn – one of the principal creators of the cartoon musicians.
He told the online music publication: "We have kind of talked. Nothing serious, but I like what they do. I have run into Damon at things and we have talked. It's got near a couple of times but we never had the time, I suppose..."
It appears that this is a prime time for unlikely partnerships as it was recently revealed that Metallica had joined forces with Lou Reed for a new album.
For Gorillaz, Paul McCartney will be another big name to add an ever-increasing list of music stars they have worked with.
This has included Lou Reed, Bobby Womack and rap megastar Snoop Dogg.
Paul McCartney has re-released remastered versions of McCartney and McCartney ll, which follows on the back of other re-releases from his solo archive.
