Sir Elton John to appear on new Queens of the Stone Age
Dave Grohl, who has been reunited with the band to play drums on the record, revealed the unlikely collaboration when he interviewed Sir Elton on US late night talk show Chelsea Lately which aired on February 6th.
He explained that himself and the Candle In The Wind star had been recording together and then Sir Elton stated himself that the new song they had written was for the new Queens of the Stone Age album.
Elton added that he had recently flown back from Las Vegas to Los Angeles after a duet with Engelbert Humperdinck before making the Queens track.
"He [Engelbert Humperdinck] is part of my history and I couldn't say no so I went and recorded a song with him. Then I drove three blocks and went from Engelbert to Queens Of The Stone Age, which was a bit [surreal]," Sir Elton went on to say.
The band are due to release their yet unnamed album later in the year and will also headline Download Festival in June.
