Songwriter and electric guitar player Brian Dolzani has commended the experience of recording albums at home.
The musician has so far released five albums, most of which were recorded at his house with him playing all the instruments himself.
He has even gone as far as releasing them on his own record label.
Speaking to the Hartford Courant, he noted that home recording has definite advantages over going into a studio, such as the reduced cost.
Dolzani also noted that he likes being in charge of playing all the instruments.
However, he has adopted a new approach with his latest record and opted to bring in outside musicians.
"I thought it would be a growth process to work with other people," he commented.
This comes as Cat Power gears up to dispense with backing musicians and record her next album single-handedly.
The singer-songwriter told the Courier-Mail she had not picked up a guitar or piano for some time and has therefore chosen to record alone.
