Signed guitar goes on display
A guitar featuring Sir Cliff Richard's signature is to go on display in Portsmouth.
The instrument is one of several items that are on show at the City Museum in its Birth of British Rock exhibition, the Portsmouth News reports.
Sir Cliff's 1958 debut Move It is widely credited as the first ever British rock 'n' roll record and a landmark in music history.
He went on to enjoy a long-lasting career that continues to this day, which includes hits such as The Young Ones, Wired for Sound, Devil Woman and We Don't Talk Anymore.
The exhibition at the City Museum also features 100 photographs of many rock 'n' roll stars from the era, as well as other pieces of memorabilia.
Fans of Sir Cliff and British music history can see the guitar in Portsmouth until June 6th 2010.
The veteran singer recently got back together with his old band The Shadows for a reunion tour, which marked their 50 years in the music business.Posted on 10 Mar 2010 12:00 to category : Instruments News
