Signed Fender Stratocaster to raise money for meningitis sufferer
Posted on 30 Mar 2010 13:05 to category : Music News

A Fender Stratocasterguitar signed by musician Midge Ure is just one of the items being auctioned off to raise money for a three-year old meningitis sufferer.
Robbie Jones, from Bowburn in County Durham, walks uses prosthetic limbs after his legs were amputated as a result of his illness.
A gala evening has been arranged to raise money for his cause, with the funds set to be split with charity Meningitis UK, reports the Northern Echo.
As well as the signed Fender Stratocaster, other items set to be auctioned off at the event include an England football shirt autographed by the national team.
The event will take place on April 24th 2010 at the Gala Theatre in Durham.
Earlier this year, the Fender Stratocaster used in the Arctic Monkeys' video for I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor raised £4,600 for Oxfam after it was donated to the charity by the band's frontman Alex Turner.
