Shure launches Super 55 vocal mic

Shure has unveiled its new Super 55 vocal microphone at this week's London International Music Show.
The company, which is well known for products such as the SM58, has updated its classic 55SH device and brought it up to date with a number of new innovations, reports Mi Pro.
This includes a new motor and supercardioid cartridge, which means the mic offers its well-known design in tandem with modern performance standards.
Paul Crognale, marketing manager at Shure Distribution UK, commented: "While the design continues to be popular over 50 years after first being produced, sound engineers increasingly require additional gain-before-feedback during performances that is provided by a supercardioid polar pattern."
He added that 55SH is one of the most identifiable mics on the market, which means the new version stops consumers from having to choose between classic design and first-class performance.
This comes shortly after Shure was honoured in the Mi Pro Retail Survey, with the SM58 being named the best microphone for live performers for the third year in succession.
