Serato DJ Gets Digital Vinyl Support as Scratch Live is Discontinued

Serato DJ Gets Digital Vinyl Support as Scratch Live is Discontinued.
Scratch Live is to be discontined
The Serato DJ application is now the flagship platform following as Scratch Live becomes discontinued.

After 10 years, 40 updates and over 7 million downloads, Serato are discontinuing Scratch Live.

Serato DJ with DVS Support (and controversial sync) will be a free upgrade for current Scratch Live users, and will be familiar, but there will also be improvements such as a de-cluttered user interface, more cue points and new iZotope FX.

Overall, this is great news for Serato users as Serato no longer have to juggle two applications, but are now working from a single code base, allowing for better architecture and testing which means updates will be quicker and performance is improved.

Although the features of Serato DJ will be familiar, making the transition easier, Serato have promised to provide upgrades and support for Scratch Live until 2015 (with the software and technical support still available after), so there's plenty of time to adjust.

Digital Vinyl Support will be supported with Rane 64 and the new Pioneer DDJ-SR, among others.

Watch Sam Gribben, CEO at Serato, talk you through the transition.
