Satriani 'hungry to endorse products'
Posted on 30th Jun 2009 15:30 to category Music News
Electric guitar player Joe Satriani is especially keen to add his name to different types of musical gear, it has been observed.
MusicRadar described the musician, who has worked with acts such as Deep Purple and Mick Jagger during his career, as "endorsement-hungry".
Indeed, a variety of items that are on general sale now bear his name, including Ibanez electric guitars and a number of guitar effects pedals.
However, MusicRadar noted that Satriani is not alone in this regard, as many of his peers have also endorsed certain products.
For instance, Steve Vai has added his name to a number of different Ibanez electric guitars, while Zakk Wylde has endorsed Epiphone instruments.
Some manufacturers have even associated with rock musicians after their death, MusicRadar continued.
For example, the name of Jimi Hendrix - who died in 1970 - appears on a number of Jim Dunlop effects pedals, giving electric guitar players the chance to emulate sounds such as his distinctive fuzz wah.
