Rush star reminisces about Gibson ES-335
He explained that the musical instrument was one of the first guitars he owned and he took it on tour with Rush until the late 1970s.
Lifeson explained to the Gibson website that he had been forced to retire the ES-335 following an onstage accident when his band were supporting Blue Oyster Cult.
"One of the horns fell off the PA and landed right on the stage, and then fell over and smashed into the 335 and put a big crack in the headstock," he said.
The electric guitar player said he varied his choice of instrument from then on, using Fenders, Les Pauls and Gibsons when he was playing.
Earlier this week, music writer Russell Hall said Bernard Butler of Suede made himself into one of the greatest glam rock guitarists of all time with his use of a Gibson ES-335.Posted on 8 May 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
