Royal wedding music kept a surprise

The music for the royal wedding is a tightly-guarded secret.
Great deals on musical instruments

There has been lots of speculation about the royal wedding in recent weeks and what music the happy couple will opt for has been the subject of much discussion.

However, Prince William and Kate Middleton have so far remained tight-lipped on all things musical, including what musical instruments will play while they walk down the aisle.

"The couple have very, very strong ideas of what they want," Christopher Warren-Green, the London Chamber Orchestra's music director and conductor for the occasion, told People magazine.

"And after all, at the end of the day, it is their wedding. It's a young couple's wedding, and they should have what they want."

He added that the couple's parents, and the organist and choirmaster at Westminster Abbey have also given advice on the musical selection.

What music will be played at the wedding reception has also been a topic of much speculation, with reports suggesting that chart-topper Ellie Goulding could perform at the party.

"Wills and Kate are huge fans of Ellie and were keen to sign her up," a source told the Sun.

"Her music goes down well with the young ones, plus a few of the older guests will be nodding their heads along."
