Royal harpist's role 'a dream come true'
Winning the role of the harp player to the royal family was a dream come true for musician Claire Jones.
The 25-year-old achieved the position in 2007 after playing for Prince Charles and gaining his seal of approval.
Speaking to WalesOnline about her experiences of playing the harp for everyone from the Queen to Nicole Kidman, the performer from Preseli said that she has yet to take her position for granted.
"I still have to pinch myself when I'm driving through the gates of Clarence House and Buckingham Palace," Ms Jones said.
After holding the position for three years, the harpist was asked to continue to play at royal engagements and explained that her situation has enabled her to record CDs of her performances.
Catrin Finch, the musician who held the position of royal harp player before Ms Jones, has gone on to work with composers including John Rutter and Howard Goodall.
