Roy Wood hails violin player Nigel Kennedy
Posted on 21 Dec 2009 11:41 to category : Instruments News

Violin player Nigel Kennedy has been praised by rock veteran Roy Wood. The former Move and Wizzard frontman described Kennedy as probably his favourite musician of all time.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Wood revealed that the pair once played together at a gig in Birmingham. The rocker had invited Kennedy to appear on stage with his band when they were performing at the city's Symphony Hall.
"I was surprised when he turned up," Wood commented. "His performance was mind-blowing."
He added that Kennedy's The Vivaldi Album is one of his all-time favourite records.
Wood, who is best known for hits such as Fire Brigade, See My Baby Jive and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day, has recently been touring with fellow rock veterans Status Quo.
The tour, which has called at venues including Wembley Arena and the Glasgow SECC, wraps up at the Bournemouth BIC this evening.
