Rossi: Rehearsing Quo hits can be painful
Posted on 4 Jun 2010 11:10 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Electric guitar player Francis Rossi has revealed he does not enjoy rehearsing Status Quo hits before the band goes out on tour.
The veteran rocker, who famously plays a battered green Fender Telecaster, said the band have a standing rule that gigs must be put in if they are off for longer than three weeks.
This, he said, is because they do not enjoy going to rehearsals, as practising on an empty film stage at 11 o'clock in the morning is not much fun.
Indeed, Rossi admitted that running through hits such as Rockin' All Over The World in this situation can be "really quite painful".
However, he told eFestivals that he does still enjoy playing the Quo classics live in concert, as they always go down well with audiences.
Rossi said that while people must think the "boredom of playing those songs for about 450 years" must drive the band mad, this is not the case.
"You get on stage and you realise what it's all about," he commented.
Status Quo first rose to prominence in the 1960s with hits such as Pictures of Matchstick Men and Ice in the Sun.
They have since notched up more hit singles than any other band in the UK, including Caroline, Down Down, You'll Come 'Round and Paper Plane.
