Ronnie Wood shows off artwork
Entitled Ronnie Wood’s Faces, Times and Places, the exhibition is made up of a collection of 100 pieces of art made by the superstar in and around his music commitments over the years.
In an interview with the Observer, Woods revealed how the megastar contemporary artist Damien Hirst, a good friend of his, encouraged him to keep at it.
"People don’t known that I’m an artist," he said. "Playing music as part of a team effort is wonderful, but to express individuality as an artist is very personal. Art is more powerful, a more personal statement."
Co-curated by Bernie Chase, the show is on at The Gallery in Cork Street from November 7th until November 12th.
Meanwhile, his bandmate Mick Jagger is currently sticking to music, albeit of the "super kind". His new band, Super Heavy, is comprised of Joss Stone, AR Rahman, Damien Markey and Dave Stewart.Posted on 1 Nov 2011 14:30 to category : Instruments News
