Ronnie Wood gets new Faces
Posted on 29th Jan 2010 10:30 to category Band / Celebrity News
Ronnie Wood is to reform his old band the Faces.
The 62-year-old rocker - who is currently the guitarist for The Rolling Stones - will rejoin his old group in March as they start preparation for a 2011 tour.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I want to reform my band The Faces. There's a new line-up but it's going to go really well. We're going to start getting together in March to rehearse for shows next year."
The Faces was formed with members from two bands, the Small Faces and the Jeff Beck group, in 1969 and included singer Rod Stewart, keyboard player Ian McLagan, drummer Kenney Jones and Ronnie Lane on bass alongside Ronnie. They split in 1975.
Ronnie has been itching to return to the stage and recently revealed he was planning on embarking on a solo tour, as his Rolling Stones bandmates have decided against scheduling any live dates for the foreseeable future.
The musician's work has been overshadowed by his turbulent personal life in recent months.
Last December, Ronnie split from his 21-year-old waitress girlfriend Katia Ivanova.
Their 15-month romance - which began when he walked out on his wife of 23 years Jo Wood - ended after he was cautioned for common assault following a drunken public row between the pair.
He said: "I'm getting so much attention all the time. It's annoying to see myself in the papers practically every day."
