Ronnie Wood 'enjoys mature sound of Fender Stratocaster'
Ronnie Wood has said he loves the "matured sound" of his 50s Fender Stratocaster, stating it is a "very comfortable" instrument to play.
The Rolling Stones and Faces member told Premier Guitar that the axe features heavily on his new album, I Feel Like Playing.
He explained that he opted for the same guitars and amps that he would use when recording with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, explaining that his roadie Dave Rouse knows to offer him his favourite instruments.
"You get that reliable sound that comes from a 50s amp and a 50s guitar, whether it's an acoustic or an electric," Wood commented.
I Feel Like Playing, which was released last month, features guest appearances by the likes of Slash, Bobby Womack, Flea and Billy Gibbons.
