Roland DJ-808 DJ Controller and Other New DJ Gear Announced
The DJ-808 is Roland's first DJ controller, and is co-developed with DJ software, Serato. The DJ-808 is equipped with a professional 4-channel mixer, built-in drum sequencing, vocal processing, external instrument connectivity, and the best Serato DJ integration available, combining together the best of software and hardware in a single, roadworthy unit, ideal for studio production and live performance.
Unlike typical DJ controllers, the DJ-808 is also an instrument, and features a built-in, Roland TR-S drum machine featuring iconic 606, 707, 808 and 909 drum sounds. As well as a drum machine, the DJ-808 also features a dedicated vocal processor which can drastically transform any voice with added dramatic effects, as well as pitch the performer’s voice to match the key of Serato DJ tracks, via the Auto Pitch function.
With a professional design, the DJ-808 features smooth, intuitive knobs and faders, adjustable curves, a removable crossfader, and touch-sensitive RGB buttons for effects and TR drum machine triggering. The DJ-808 also offers deep Serato DJ control via built-in DVS support dedicated loop control buttons, and controls for Serato Flip, HOT CUE, FX and Key Sync. In additon, this versatile unit allows the users to connect turntables or CDJs with the purchase of a Serato DVS license.
Along with the long awaited launch of the DJ-808, Roland will also be launching the TT-99 Direct Drive Turntable, and also the DJ-99 Scratch Mixer. For many years, Roland have only offered the iconic TR-909, offering iconic sounds for use in many applications. The TT-99 is equipped with a direct drive system for stable torque, as well as a built-in phono equaliser. The DJ-99 on the other hand features a pro grade mini innoFADER crossfader, with dedicated DVS inputs/outputs, and a 3-band equaliser for each input. Both units provide a professional tool, that can be used for live performances as well as studio use, and are both equipped for today's entertainers.
This innovative range of new Roland products will be available from the end of October at Gear4music
